"As a small boy, I always carried a pocket knife. I would carve very small, guns, bows, and arrows. After I retired, I began carving small figures. My first attempt was a complete manger scene with all of the figures. I finished two, one for each of my children. I love Christmas so I started carving Santas, elves, and other related characters. I sent these as gifts to friends and family members.
I finally started attending craft fairs to peddle my creations. I thoroughly enjoy carving the little critters. They evoke many memories from people's childhoods as they talk about fathers, or grandfathers who carved. I cherish the interaction with so many people. I intend to carve for as long as I physically can. Happy carving!"
